Alaska may be the land of the midnight sun, but it is definitely not the land of sun bathers.   Growing up, I did not lounge on the beach or frolic in the water – sitting on a petrified log in a neck-to-toe red jumper was more fun, really.  But after all, the rivers were full of bears, the lakes full of leeches, and the ocean full of whales.  And, there were the dreaded mud flats – a glacial quicksand that sucked you in and down.  For a kid, it was the stuff of nightmares.

Nowadays, I’m more afraid of sun damage.  Beach going is the preferred summertime activity in my seaside town, but I’m pretty good at faking a sun kissed glow.  For a sheer, au naturel bronzer mix a few drops of my MoodyBeauty oil with a smidge of Josie Maran Argan Tinted Mositurizer – SPF 30.   In just 3 sun-free seconds you have a lovely golden glow – inside and out.
